Meet Andrea:
I’m Andrea Betancourt — makeup artist, licensed esthetician, beauty educator, and founder of Black Parade Beauty Company.
My career in beauty began more than two decades ago, almost by accident, when my interest in photography led me toward makeup artistry. What started as curiosity became the thing I kept returning to: transformation, creativity, connection, and the challenge of figuring out what makes each person uniquely magnetic.
One of the best compliments I’ve ever received is that I can take anyone and make them look beautiful — or hot, depending on the assignment.
That has always stayed with me because it gets to the heart of what I love most about this work. I’m not interested in making everyone look the same. I’m interested in finding the thing that already makes someone special and turning the volume up on it.
Over the years, I’ve built my career across makeup artistry, retail beauty, education, leadership, and brand work, with experience alongside companies including Sephora, Estée Lauder, MAC Cosmetics, and other major beauty brands. I learned technique, artistry, and how to perform under pressure, but I also learned how much the experience around the service matters — how someone is treated, listened to, and made to feel while they’re in the chair.
After nearly two decades in the industry, I wanted more ownership over the kind of beauty career I was creating. I pursued my esthetics license at Paul Mitchell the School Austin, turning a long-held goal into something real and deepening my understanding of skin, service, and the technical side of beauty.
From there, I spent two years specializing in waxing, refining speed, technique, and client care before eventually creating a space of my own.
Black Parade Beauty Company was built as a place where all of those pieces could live together.
Makeup. Lashes. Brows. Waxing. Skin. Education. Creativity.
My approach is thoughtful, highly customized, and never one-size-fits-all. I care deeply about technique and detail, but just as much about creating a space where people feel comfortable, respected, and completely themselves.
More than anything, I’m passionate about helping people find what makes them magic — the feature, energy, detail, or feeling that makes them unmistakably them.
I’m drawn to beauty that feels polished without being predictable, a little romantic, a little rebellious, and always intentional.
After more than 20 years in this industry, I’m still learning, still creating, and still excited by the same thing that pulled me in at the beginning: helping someone see their own magic a little more clearly.
Behind the name:
To know me is to know how deeply music is woven into who I am.
My taste is all over the place, but the music of my younger years — especially emo, alternative, and the songs that made me feel understood before I always had the words for it — left a permanent mark.
Black Parade is a nod to that part of me. To the music that shaped my taste, my creativity, and the way I see the world. It’s a little nostalgic, a little dramatic, and completely sincere.
More than anything, the name represents belonging.
The communities that form around music have always reminded me how powerful it is to feel seen, understood, and welcomed exactly as you are. That same feeling is something I want to create in my studio.
Black Parade Beauty Company is a space for individuality, self-expression, and whatever version of beauty feels most like you.
