CONTRAINDICATIONS + BEFORE YOU BOOK

Your comfort, skin health, and natural hair and lash integrity always come first.

Certain medications, skin conditions, recent procedures, or sensitivities may mean a service needs to be modified, postponed, or avoided altogether.

Please review the section that applies to your service before booking. If you’re unsure whether something you use, take, or have recently had done may affect your appointment, reach out before your visit.

LASH EXTENSIONS

Lash extensions may need to be postponed or avoided if you currently have:

  • An active eye infection, including conjunctivitis or a stye

  • Significant redness, swelling, inflammation, or irritation around the eyes

  • Open cuts, abrasions, burns, or active skin irritation near the treatment area

  • A known allergy or previous significant reaction to lash adhesive

  • Recent eye surgery that has not fully healed

  • Difficulty comfortably keeping your eyes closed for an extended period

Please contact me before booking if you have chronic watery eyes, blepharitis, significant skin sensitivity, a history of adhesive reactions, or are undergoing medical treatment that affects your skin, hair, or immune system.

A patch or sensitivity test may be recommended for new clients or anyone with a history of sensitivity. A negative patch test cannot guarantee that a future allergic reaction will not occur.

LASH LIFT + TINT

Lash lift and tint services may need to be postponed if you have:

  • An active eye infection or inflammation

  • Open or irritated skin around the eyes

  • Severely weakened, brittle, or overprocessed lashes

  • A positive patch or sensitivity test

  • A previous significant reaction to lash lift or tint products

  • Recent eye surgery that has not fully healed

Please let me know if you have very sensitive eyes, chronic watery eyes, lash loss, or a medical condition affecting your lashes.

Lash lifts are chemical services, and the condition of your natural lashes will always be assessed before proceeding.

BROW LAMINATION

Brow lamination may need to be postponed or avoided if the skin or brow hair is currently compromised.

Please do not book if you currently have:

  • Open wounds, cuts, burns, abrasions, or significant irritation around the brows

  • Active eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, or another inflamed skin condition affecting the treatment area

  • An active skin or eye infection

  • Severely dry, brittle, damaged, or overprocessed brow hair

  • A positive patch or sensitivity test

  • A previous significant reaction to brow lamination or similar products

  • Recent microblading, cosmetic tattooing, or facial surgery that has not fully healed

Please contact me before booking if you:

  • Use prescription retinoids or strong active skincare around the brows

  • Use steroid or cortisone creams in the treatment area

  • Recently received Botox, filler, a peel, laser treatment, or another cosmetic procedure

  • Are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or another treatment affecting your skin or hair

  • Have alopecia, trichotillomania, or another condition affecting brow growth

  • Have a history of significant skin sensitivity

Brow lamination is a chemical service, so preserving the health and integrity of your natural brow hair will always take priority over the finished look

FACIAL WAXING

Facial skin can become significantly more sensitive from medications, active skincare, professional treatments, and environmental exposure.

Please do not wax if:

  • You are currently taking isotretinoin or have recently completed treatment and have not been cleared for waxing

  • The area is sunburned, actively peeling, bruised, inflamed, broken, or otherwise significantly irritated

  • You have open wounds, sores, or an active skin infection in the treatment area

Please contact me before your appointment if you:

  • Use prescription retinoids such as tretinoin, adapalene, or similar medications

  • Use retinol, AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, strong acne treatments, or exfoliating products near the treatment area

  • Are currently taking antibiotics or medications that increase skin sensitivity

  • Recently had a chemical peel, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, microneedling, laser treatment, or another resurfacing service

  • Recently received Botox, filler, cosmetic tattooing, or another procedure in the treatment area

  • Use steroid or cortisone products on the skin

  • Have eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rosacea, or another active skin condition affecting the area

  • Are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or another treatment that may affect skin integrity or healing

If waxing is not appropriate that day, brow shaping may still be possible using tweezing or another method that is safer for the condition of your skin.

BODY + BRAZILIAN WAXING

Body waxing may need to be postponed if the treatment area has:

  • Sunburn

  • Open wounds, cuts, abrasions, or active skin irritation

  • Active infection

  • Significant inflammation or bruising

  • A recent procedure that has left the skin unusually sensitive or compromised

Please let me know if you are using prescription skincare or medications that affect skin sensitivity, healing, or bruising.

For Brazilian waxing, please also let me know about any active irritation, lesions, skin infections, or recent procedures affecting the treatment area before your appointment.

Your comfort and skin integrity are always the priority.

FACIALS + SKIN SERVICES

Certain skin treatments may need to be modified or postponed depending on the condition of your skin.

Please let me know before your appointment if you:

  • Are using prescription retinoids or strong active skincare

  • Are currently taking isotretinoin

  • Recently had a chemical peel, microneedling, laser treatment, dermaplaning, or another resurfacing procedure

  • Recently received Botox, filler, or cosmetic injections

  • Have active sunburn, open wounds, cold sores, or a skin infection

  • Are experiencing an active eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, or rosacea flare

  • Are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or another medical treatment affecting the skin

  • Have known allergies or sensitivities to skincare ingredients

Your facial can often be adjusted based on what your skin needs that day. If a particular exfoliant, heat, steam, or active ingredient is not appropriate, the service will be modified rather than pushing the skin unnecessarily.

WHEN IN DOUBT, ASK

Not every condition or medication automatically means you cannot receive a service.

Sometimes we simply need to adjust the treatment, wait until the skin has healed, or choose a different technique.

If you’re unsure whether a medication, skincare product, recent treatment, allergy, or medical condition may affect your appointment, please contact me before booking.

I would always rather answer the question first than take a chance with your skin, eyes, lashes, or brows.
